The Best Chocolate Chunk Cookies

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that Bean has recently discovered my secret snack stash and now all allegiances in our home are in jeopardy. Trust has been compromised. My snacks are compromised. Everyone feels some type of way. The wounds of betrayal run deep. Sometimes it be your own family, y'all.#eyeroll Is nothing sacred anymore?

I mean, I shared my womb with you, Bean. Can I at least have my snacks to myself???

Loyalties will indeed be tested this weekend. Not sure what will become of the Cade Family. However, I am sure of the fact that I need some new snacks and a new place to hide them. For now, however, I will extend an olive branch to my little family and bake some cookies for all of us to share because we should all be in this together.

I know that I can't possibly be the only mama in this situation, so I'm offering my

Chocolate Chunk Cookie recipe to y'all as well. It has been proven to mend hearts and relationships... And they're absolutely delicious! Bake some up this weekend, friends. We survived Week 1 of quarantine- that deserves to be celebrated!!

Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Prep Time 5 minutes

Cook Time 7 minutes

Total Time 12 minutes

Servings 36 cookies

What You Need:

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 eggs, room temperature

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

3.5 cups flour, all-purpose

1 cup semi- sweet chocolate chunks

1 cup milk chocolate chips

What To Do:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Line a nonstick baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Cream together butter, oil and sugars.

  4. Add eggs and beat until fully incorporated.

  5. Add baking soda, salt, baking powder, vanilla extract, and flour. Mix until just incorporated. Do not over mix!

  6. Stir in chocolate chunks and chips by hand.

  7. Scoop out 1.5 tablespoons of dough (medium cookie/ ice cream scoop) and place 2 inches apart on baking sheet.

  8. Bake for 7-9 minutes, or until cookies are set. They will be a bit puffy and still look a little under-baked in the middle.

  9. Allow them to cool, if you can. And enjoy!!
